Yamauba (山姥?), Yamamba or Yamanba are variations on the name of a yōkai found in Japanese folklore.
Depending on the text and translator, the Yamauba appears as a monstrous Crone, “her unkempt hair long and golden white ... her kimono filthy and tattered,” with cannibalistic tendencies. In one tale a mother traveling to her village is forced to give birth in a mountain hut assisted by an apparent kindly old woman, only to discover, when it is too late, that the stranger is actually Yamauba with plans to eat her newborn child. Yōkai (妖怪, lit. demon, spirit, or
monster) are a class of supernatural monsters in Japanese folklore. The
word yōkai is made up of the kanji for "otherworldly" and "weird".[1]
Yōkai range eclectically from the malevolent to the mischievous, or
occasionally bring good fortune to those who encounter them. Often they
possess animal features (such as the Kappa, which is similar to a
turtle, or the Tengu which has wings), other times they can appear
mostly human, some look like inanimate objects and others have no
discernible shape. Yōkai usually have a spiritual supernatural power,
with shapeshifting being one of the most common. Yōkai that have the

It is a pleasure for us to announce that we have made a wonderful dark
agreement with Novenia a.k.a The Lady of the Wolf and therefore are

Novenia A.K.A The Lady Of The Wolf is a teacher, translator and English Literature Lecturer in a private University in Jakarta. Her passion in Literature has lead her to publish her first poetry collection book. She has travelled to many cities in Indonesia, and some Asian cities. Her travel inspires most of her writing. She has met many wonderful writers, participate in literary based activities, and engage in many enlightment conversations about writing. She is still teaching and lecturing on a daily basis. She travels and writes continuously in her mind

Hantu Noni Belanda (The Ghost of The Dutch Girl) is an urban ghost story around Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta. She is the spirit of a Dutch girl who lived at the time of VOC colonialism in Indonesia.

Anak Sima & Takau
Origin: Kalimantan Selatan
Anak Sima berasal dari bayi yang terlahir diluar pernikahan, yang dibuang ke hutan oleh ibunya. Bayi yang baru lahir ini terus menangis keras di tengah hutan hingga tangisannya terdengar oleh Takau (hantu dari cerita rakyat Kalimantan Selatan). Takau yang kelaparan mendekati bayi itu untuk dimakan, namun akhirnya justru luluh melihat bayi yang tersenyum saat disentuhnya. Bayi itu pun dibawa dan dijadikan anak oleh Takau dan diberi nama Anak Sima.
Anak Sima ("Anak" means "Child") is actually a baby born out of wedlock, who is abandoned in the forest by its mother. The newborn baby keeps on crying in the middle of the forest until the cry is heard by a Takau (a ghost from South Kalimantan folklore). The hungry Takau approaches the baby for prey, but eventually falls charmed after seeing the baby smiles when she touches it. The baby is then taken as a child by Takau and named Anak Sima.

Orang Muslim di Indonesia membalut jenazah orang yang meninggal dengan kain kafan berwarna putih, lalu mengikatnya di kepala, kaki, dan leher. Jenazah yang dibalut kain ini disebut Pocong.
Muslims in Indonesia cover the body of a dead person with white kain kafan (shroud), and tie it over the head, the feet, and the neck. This shroud covered body is called Pocong.
